Pink Saturday Rolls Around

Good Morning from the mountains,
Sure is dreary here this morning, Rained most of the night and is supposed to be in the 30ies for the next few day, guess that is to be expected as we are in our winter months. Really can't complain as we have had beautiful weather the last few weeks,

Walking around my house last night looking for something for Pink Saturday and had totally forgot about this beautiful quilt, It hangs on a stand in a guest bedroom. It is gorgeous, hand quilted , all silk fabrics and a star pattern, My Mother had a best friend who passed away in the early 80ies and she left this quilt to My Mom. It had been given to her as a gift many years before, I think it is about 40 years old, I inherited it when My Mom passed in 1993, I treasure it, My Mom was very special to me and passed away after a long illness just one week before my first granddaughter was born, I have always told Miranda that Mom is her guardian angel.

Hope you enjoy your visit today with all the other blogs in pink Saturday, Just click on the little pink lady on the left and she will magically take you over to see Bev, and on to the fun.

Hope you all have a wonderful week.

What a beautiful quilt and lovely story behind it. I can only imagine how cozy and soft it would be if it is silk. Yummy! Happy Pink Saturday!

Hi Judy...its Judi! It was so nice to have you visit me this morning.

How very special your quilt is...first a special gift for your mom and now passed on to you. Thats what makes handmade quilts such a treasure, the pleasure you can pass on that come from making something meaningful to one. I love it...special memories.

I hope you are having a nice Saturday. Our weather isn't great today either. Its overcast and has been drizzling all night and all day. The good thing is it makes it more fun to get at things indoors that you tend to put off when the weather is lovely.

come visit again.
Judi

Happy PS, Judy!

Love that beautiful quilt & the story of how you came to possess it.

My granddaughter was born only 5 weeks before my dear grandmother passed away. There were 5 generations of us for 5 weeks. When one door closes, another one opens....

Love you,

The quilt is lovely, and so is the way you have it displayed on the heart-shaped stand.
