Good Morning Ladies:
You can feel the fall here in the mountains, our mornings are chilly, I get more Holiday spirit when this starts to happen than I get in December. I am going to be here at home for October this year for the first time in 22 years, We have worked the Gatlinburg craft fair for 22 years and always there for the whole month of October. I am so looking forward to the change of the leaves in our mountains. I will share them with you this year.
My contribution to pink Saturday will be short and sweet today. You have so many to visit and enjoy. Just click on the little pink lady on the left and it will take you to our Gracious host, Beverly. This beautiful plant has been in my home for 16 years. It is and Angel Wing Begonia, The leaves are shaped like angel wings and the sweet pink flowers hang in pods under the leaves. My Mom passed away 15 years ago this month and this beautiful plant was given to me as a gift when she was sick. She was a bed patient in my home for two years before passing away. I was so blessed to be able, along with my brothers and sisters to take care of her the last years of her life. Each year when this begonia blooms it brings beautiful memories of my Mom, and my first granddaughter was born just one week after my Mother passed. God takes one home and sends us another. Miranda will be 15 years old on Sept. 3rd. I move the begonia indoors for the winter and set it on my porch in the summer. Hope you enjoy your day and have a beautiful memory of your MOM.

wHAT a lovely post.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Happy Pink Saturday, Judy.
We are both thinking of our mothers today. They are truly one of God's most precious gifts. How special that your granddaughter was born so soon after your mother left to be with God.
I'm so glad you have this plant as a memory.
Hi Judy!
I live in Argentina, and i remember that in my grandmother cottage, she had that begonia..and in other colors too...

Gosh I just love Angelwing begonias, and how wonderful you have one that reminds you of your dear mother.
Plants are treasures we can pass on and on and remember - and aren't you lucky to have this one as a keepsake.
Have a great pink Saturday.
We aren't feeling the autumn yet here in Southern California, but your post about the leaves was so vivid it almost made me smell the dry leaves of fall. Thanks!
Oh, I see my comment went Poof! I said your angel wing begonia reminds me of my mom's. She would also bring it in during the winter and put it our all summer. I have a plant from my Dad's funeral--it is 19 yrs. old! I hope I do this right this time! Happy PSat!
Happy Pink Saturday!
Are these begonia flowers?

Beautiful post, Judy. Brought back memories of my mom. The begonia is beautiful.

What a beautiful tribute to your dear mother. I love that plant. I'm so glad it brings you such joy. 16 yrs....I can't keep most of my plants alive for 16 days unless they are terribly hearty on their own!

Judy,
Sweet story on your angel wing begonia. I adore houseplants but have to admit that I've "lost" my fair share over the years due to "driver error". Or should I say neglect? So knowing you've kept this alive for 16 years is remarkable!
Happy Pink...
Sue

Hi Judy what a beautiful post, and such a sweet story about your mother. The begoinia is so pretty, I bought two this year and hubby and I were just talking about trying to bring it in when the weather gets cold. It's much to pretty to let it die.

What a lovely remembrance of your mother. And to have the plant for 15 years, wow! I don't believe I've ever seen one of those before, it's very beautiful!
What a lovely flower! Thanks for sharing about your mom. My mom passed away in 1995 and I miss her too. Happy Belated Pink Saturday.
Hey Judy! Your plant is so pretty... girl, you are in my favorite place in the world.... the mountains! I bet it feels nice up there. Gatlinburg is where we vacationed in 2006. I fell in love with that place and I think I left a piece of my heart up there in those gorgeous mountains. I can just here the sound of trickling water running over beautiful rocks in those streams of water. That place made such an impression on me.... it is always fresh in my memory. Well, have a great weekend!
xoxo,
Queenie!
