Spring Weddings

Hey! this is the time of the year for planning spring and summer weddings, We have two young ladies in our circle of friends who are getting married this year. Went to one shower last evening, The young couple is decorating with black and red so I decided to give kitchen items for a gift. The other young lady will received a memory box similar to the one pictured. She will be able to store all her wedding mementos in it. We have these on our web site. How wonderful it is to be starting out as young newly weds, I would love to do it all over again. Darrell and I have been married for 39 wonderful years and I would relive every year the same way. Well, I have got in enough post this evening to make up for the days lost. We will start next week to work on new items for the fall shows so come by to see what we will offer.

New Merchandise

I have had many request on the web site for nested boxes. I have been searching and have located a few that are beautiful and very affordable so thought I would share a couple with you. I listed these this evening, The largest is only $14.95 and the smaller one is $10.95.
We are also going to be offering ribbon very soon. You will be able to decorate your own memory box.

Almost back to normal

Will take us about a week to be back to normal around here.
We took our granddaughters, Miranda and Madison back to Tennessee yesterday. We drove down and back the same day, about 4 hours each way. We had the two of them and a friend of Mirandas for a week, having a two year old around will really make you know just how old your are. Along with keeping up with her and Taking Miranda here and there to shop and to the movies we were busy all week. Miranda will be attending her 8th grade prom next month so we went shopping for a dress. Times sure have changed. Darrell and I love when they come to visit but takes us about two weeks to recuperate and get back to normal. I hope you have the joy of grandchildren, they are our jewels in life.

Busy Days

Good Evening,
Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, Have been very busy, Went to Tennessee for Easter with our children and brought our two granddaughters home for a week so you can imagine how busy we are. The older we get the harder it is to keep up with a two year old but it is so much fun and exhausting. Going to Take the older one shopping tomorrow. She has her eighth grade dance in a few weeks so trying to find something to wear. Also arrived home to find a first cousin on mine had passed away with a heart attack. After the funeral we had a family dinner at our home. So sad that the only time some of us see each other is at a funeral.
As we all get older it makes our family time more valuable. Be sure you give your loved ones a hug and let them know how much you love them.

Don't forget our contest for Romantic Homes Magazine Ad. The May issue should be out on the stands this week.

The first of next week we will start working on inventory for the Craft shows coming up this fall.
I will let you know the new items we will be offering. Will also be working on new items for the web site, Be sure you stop by to browse.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week, Will be taking the girls home on Saturday so should get back to normal by the first of the week.

Past Work

Thought I would share a few of the pieces we have completed or sold in the past few months. This is a vintage cake cover on a ceramic plate. I have painted so many of these and each one different. They come in so many different designs. I love to paint on these.

Painting fruit is another favorite. in fact I love to paint so many different things it is hard to pick a favorite. This is a vintage metal bread box, vintage tea kettle and an old coffee pot converted to hold kitchen utensils.

I painted two of these for wedding gifts last summer for a niece and a nephew. Put their wedding invitation in the middle and they could put their wedding pictures in the other two. Very beautiful and a big hit.

This is another style of cake carrier or cover. Painted Gingerbread on this one.

Oh Happy Day

Hey! We got high speed internet today for the first time. I have spent the last 5 years or more dealing with dial up. Have been waiting for our cable company to get on the ball and get the service in for us, Well , They installed mine today and I have been like a kid in a candy store all afternoon. So many sites I would not visit before as it just took to long to load. I will find all kinds of new stuff in the coming days and we all know, we need more stuff. HA!

Also heard from my doctor yesterday and everything is a go for lap band surgery. I have been going through this process for the last 7 months. Can't wait now for the final step. If you are going to or have had the same type of weight surgery let me know. Would love to hear how you have done with it. Mine should be in the first part of April.

Beautiful Day

So glad to wake up this morning to the sunshine coming through the window. Spring is my favorite time of the year, To have the sunshine in the morning and hear the birds singing is a little bit of heaven. I have spent the last couple days trying to get my blog up and running. I need to get some work done today, think I might sew some. Haven't been in my art studio for a couple months due to a foot surgery. Have missed it. The doctor says this week I can remove the brace a few hours each say over the next month until I get rid of it. Thank goodness. Have been living in a wheel chair for about 2 months. Everyone should do this for a period of time to see how hard it is for the people who are in them all the time and be thankful to God for the good health we have. I am go glad I get to go back to church in the morning. I have missed it. Got to get busy for the day. Catch you later.

Get to Know Me

I would like to start by giving a thank you to Connie, a wonderful web buddy who helped me to get my blog set up. So many fabulous gals have stepped up to help. Have met some great friends and look forward to getting to know them better. Be sure you take a look at the blogs under the PRH headline. I thought I would start by sharing a few pictures of my home with you. Of course I do most of my decorating in shabby and Victorian designs but, if I find something I love I will find a place in my home to put it so I have a real mix. Darrell has always teased me because one of the things I love is, when we travel at night through small neighborhoods, looking through other peoples windows to see how the house is decorated.
My sister gave me a sign that says everything collector and this is so true. I am a doll collector and love the unusual, collect teacups, water pitchers, Christmas decorations along with much more. Being in the craft business and working the craft shows for many years had allowed me to purchase some beautiful work from other crafters. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
